State leaders want people to start thinking about holiday gatherings. Thursday, the Murphy administration warned that indoor family gatherings are increasingly becoming the starting points for many of the new coronavirus outbreaks across the state. The governor is urging residents to limit the number of people at holiday parties to just those within your immediate household.

Health officials mark another day of nearly a thousand new positive tests, now 216,994 cumulative cases with six new deaths and 16,197 total fatalities. Hospitalizations are also on the rise.

A second wave of the coronavirus will likely bring more financial hardship. Thursday, the administration extended the moratorium on utility shut-offs. It means no home will have electricity, water or gas service turned off due to non-payment through March 15, 2021.
